I am about 200 lbs riding CF frame. I have ridden inexpensive $25 tires and more expensive $75 tires, but I've yet to notice any difference between the expensive ones and cheap ones in either ride quality or frequency of flats. I'm not a power rider so I'm not looking to shave seconds, and I'm pretty diligent about air pressure (100 lbs. w/ 700x25mm). I've averaged about 1500 miles/year for the past 17 years. Does anyone notice a relationship of money spent on tires to quality? Or, are they more like speaker wire -- once you get past a certain price, it's all the same?

I have Conti GP 5000 I don't run tubeless and I try to avoid bad roads. They rarely flat and I get 5000-6000 miles on a set. At about 2000 miles assuming the rear tire has not real cuts or issues I rotate the front to the back and back to front. Then I proceed to finish riding them until they get to the bottom of the wear indicators. These are fantastic tires I weight 170 pounds and the price of a tire generally does not indicate how long it will last although light racing tires can be expensive and not last long. I also do not want unresponsive tires that ride like bricks. Conti GP 5000's pretty mush exceed in every category even racing.
