Uganda or Rwanda

I am going to be in Africa in first week of September to photograph the wildebeest migration.

As I have some time to spare, I was thinking of popping over to either Uganda or Rwanda, and doing a short 4-6 day cycling tour.

Anyone cycled there and/or know some resources for cyclists? Not getting a lot on Google or Crazyguyonabike.com

Thanks!

Bikes: I tour on a Waterford Adventurecycle. It is a fabulous touring bike.

This page has 2 links to information about bike touring in Uganda.

Here is a link to a Lonely Planet overview of bike touring in Rwanda.

Hi Raybo - thanks for that. Already read those links, trying to get the next level of detail, especially on Rwanda - especially trip reports, which usually contain a lot of nuggets of information that go beyond the basic. There's only one such report on CGOAB, though.

Think I may get a tour operator to help me with the logistics and planning.

There are plenty of people who have cycled through Uganda and Rwanda. (me, not yet, though!).
Off the top of my head, try shanecycles.com and thebigafricacycle.com for blogs.
Also lots of info here: https://www.worldbiking.info, https://travellingtwo.com/ and https://www.gobicycletouring.info/cat...touring-blogs/

Might also check out the blog of Pete Gostelow, on The Big Africa Cycle, at https://www.thebigafricacycle.com/. He just cycled from the UK to Cape Town over 3 years, through west Africa, across the Congo to East Africa and down. He had some great things to say about cycling in Rwanda - he was in both Uganda and Rwanda, if I remember correctly. I'm sure if you emailed him he'd be happy to share info as well, seems like a really friendly guy. Maybe give him a congrats, he just arrived in Cape Town days ago after a crazy 3 years.
