Ordered crank arms on March 28 from Spécialités TA in France to replace the Nervar's bought on eBay with an incorrect 175 stamping but a 170 length. Really looking forward to getting back to 175 on a bike I am riding a lot lately. TA was exceptional and found that GLS shipping was held up by Fedex from Covid.

Looks like I am going to be drilling and replacing rivets for this repair, but it will be functional again. I sometimes suspect I work to hard to revive C&V parts, but I hate to just toss them out when they are damaged a bit. Good thing the rivets are still available to me. MH

This is info from Steel Vintage Bikes...

"He started to market his frames under the second brand name Thomas for some years because he thought the name was catchier for people who did not speak Italian. When he realised that this was not necessary at all, Thomas bikes disappeared again and are now a bit of a rarity."

Bought myself a classic 70's Dutch tandem bicycle for just €55.

It's a bit rusty and the rear hub definitely needs some work but it looks like it's going to be a fun project.

P.s. Would this classify as a mixte?

Fantastic and by the "rules" separate top tubes from stem to stern make it a mixte, unless tandems don't follow the"rules".

MRX shifters for my buddy Danny's DiamondBack Apex. I set him up with a taller stem and riser bars last year and now he says the original RapidFires are bugging his tendonitis.

Nice tandem, Jacco! I'm looking forward to your posts about this one. Its simply oozing with class and style. I tell you, man, I must get over to Holland and buy a couple bikes!

If you do let me know, I can probably keep a lookout for some nice models by then.

And you're in luck, I just made a new thread - 70's Gazelle tandem

Today I finally received a spare spoke to replace the one that I broke on my 2008 or 2009 10 speed Fulcrum Racing 1 right real wheel (made by Campagnolo). My LBS could not locate a spoke through Campagnolo, who said they were no longer in stock, except for a complete spoke kit (24 spokes) for $187, so I did an on-line search and found that the spoke was the same as on a 2006 Campy Eurus wheel. After another hour or two of searching, I finally found one for $23 (but, with free shipping!).

Bag-O-Spokes!

Rebuilding the wheels for my 68 Schwinn Twinn, I hope.

I hope I got the right sizes, calculator shot out some values longer than i would have expected based on what it's essentially replacing...

Know how you felt. Picked up a pair of Campa Neutrons from trash (LBS puts all the unneeded stuff in front of shop for trash collectors), front was braked-in really deep, but still good for my daily runs, rear rim looks really good has 1 broken spoke. Almost fainted, when saw the spoke kit prices, even though they offer a "mini-kit"... how kind. As normally such a wheel would be totally out of my league I'm still happy to have the front, but if I paid hundreds for such a wheel I'd have thrown them to the Moon after reading comments, that the rear wheels are notorious spoke breakers.
