Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

**Confession thread**

So yeah... This seems to be the most notorious section for smart mouthed elitists .... *I kid*, but I'm wondering what kinda confessions you guys have here

I'm ashamed of my ventura comp.
I envy people with the balls to wear bike shorts
I wish i had more group riders in my area

to start it off

My bikes are too good for me.

I can't reply to emails effectively in a timely manner
Making bike wheels doesn't pay enough bills to allow me to quit my "real" job
I can say with authority that when it comes to promoting bike races you truly don't want to see what's being put into the sausage.

I use my wife's razor more often than she does.
I work on/ clean my bikes more than I ride them.
I have no business building up a rain bike since I ride everything in the rain anyway

I want a new bike so I hide it by spending way more on fixing up old ones than a new one would cost me.

i spend more money on bicycles then i do on my girlfriend.

i am obsessed with perfect paint finishes. scratches drive me crazy.

i post on this goofy board from work.

i eat pizza, bratwurst, drink pbr (the ford pinto of beers apparently!!) and could give a crap about proper cycling nutrition. im not fat though.

edit.....i also shop at performance.....and like it.

i often find wrenches or other tools on my bed.

edit edit......i run stop signs at night when nobody is around. i oogle other bikes as much as hot girls walking by. i never say on your left (have a noisy euro freehub!!) and get annoyed when somebody else does

My bike savings was just taken away, yet I still dream and pout about it. So I ride my MTB on the road and place my forearms on the handlebars to pretend that I am on a road bike.

I did that as a kid....probably not the smartest idea as my tires were caked with mud and as a result I was sliding all over the place at 30 mph. Ah, good times.

what's pbr?

I only go into the drops when no one is looking, if there's one person watching me I automatically go back on the tops.

I feel dirty if my legs get hairy and I use a depilator instead of shaving.
(But I still like the company of women.)

Also sometimes I use q-tips when cleaning my road bikes, (okay, and increasingly on my mountainbike.)

Edit: Look at the aristocrat! PBR= Pabst Blue Ribbon, the Ford Pinto of beers.

I still get nervous just before the start of every race - even when I don't anticipate doing well anyway.

I look in the full length mirror before I go riding to make sure my kit is just right.

I like race cut jerseys and compression wear as it shows off my hard-earned P90X body.

I am not fat, just very muscular and fit. I never get drop, just drop people and climb like a mountain goat.
(I climb ok, still get dropped and I am average fit while not on cycling attire)

Most of the time my bike is cleaner than my car.

I obsess more about riding that actually riding. I'm working on that though. (see fit problems)
I'm changing careeres to give me more time to ride, that is a very true statement.
