I am considering those dual mounts that clamp to the seat rails. They look sturdy and I suppose they are meant for TT riding, but why wouldn't they work on the Kilo?

Suggestions? Comments?

The profile design aqua rack ala butt rockets.

Great rack imo, they work for a whole range of seatpost diameters, including the kilos odd 26.8 coming with a bunch of spacer shims.


Before the haters come saying that they launch bottles and whatnot during rides, how come all those people doing the ironman triathlon have no problems with theirs?
Protip: if it's launching bottles, the elastic bands for your cages have worn out and need to be replaced!

Leuky, looked at the Profile Design. They make one that clamps to the seatpost itself and one that mounts to the seat rails.

I have one which mounts to the rails.
It mounts firmly and stays put...in that sense it works like a charm.
OTOH, mine launched the waterbottles like`a pro.
Yes, you are right. These are used by triathletes all over the globe and they get them to work
in a more traditional manner.
Mine, however, fired my bottles like grenades from a launcher from day one.
I'm assuming operator error.

You can't go wrong with either I believe; all comes down to personal preference.
I've only had experience with seatpost mounted one though so I can't confirm on the height adjustability on rail mounted ones.

When I raced triathlons, I used the profile design kage. They are around 7 bucks, and I never lost a bottle. Every once in a while you have to replace the rubber o-ring, but they work great.

I've got the Profile Design on my kilo and really like it. It's the model that clamps to the seatpost.

Another flipside is you can borrow the cages from the rack whenever you get a bike with bottlecage mounts; they're not proprietary.

Your correct. The two 2014 strippers I ordered didn't come with cage mounts. In 2012 they started adding them to the regular kilo tt and pro version, just not the strippers.

It's a bit more expensive, but I am using the xlab delta 200 with their air strike CO2 mount kit.

It is not cheap, but the majority of the cost is the carbon fiber cage. While I understand that it is expensive, I have never thrown a single bottle due to the clamping strength of the cage. My only complaint is that it has made a normal seat mounted gear bag impossible to mount at the same time.

I liked the look of the SKS rig (I originally saw it on this bike), but could not find it on hand anywhere to see how stable it would be. This option could also keep the seat mounted gear bag in the mix.
