WHEW!!!!

But, I know the feeling with seeing the same bikes over and over again.

The B-U-T-Ful bike has been posted and reposted for many months now. ... BUTT??? Perhaps the owner needs to look up Beauty????
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...l#post17469591
(now here: LeMond Poprad Road Bike--B-U-T-ful)

Of course, the good road bikes are few and far between around here, and I have more than I need... so my price goals are set pretty low
Fewer Bob's bikes are being listed now, so perhaps some sold. And truthfully, holding out for an extra $100 isn't insignificant, especially on selling several bikes.

At the same time... that B-U-T-Ful bike is now a year older, and still unsold. Wait a few decades, and it might become "vintage".

The listing apparently did change before the end of the auction.

But, it still was pretty funny

I'm not sure, but I never knew quill stems could be that long. Craigslist, obviously.

SR Swan. However, that one might even be set above the minimum insertion mark.

The Nitto Technomic series of stems were equally tall and looked like an otherwise conventional quill stem.

Clean, leather helmet, leather saddle, and passable tires. I've seen much worse listed at higher prices. It's got the cool slim simplex skewers - those can go for some bucks on Ebay.

You mean this Huffy?

I am a bit surprised that the bike hasn't sold, but it is hard to compete with the NEW Chinese tandems starting at around $300.

That is awesome, and almost worth the entire price just for that kicka$$ Darth Vader seat! It could use a cockpit upgrade, but it looks very well done for a homebrew.

Eddy Merckx Grand Prix Reynolds 753 Steel Frame Bike Dura-Ace Rare!
[h=2]Eddy Merckx Grand Prix Reynolds 753 Steel Frame Bike Dura-Ace Rare! - $1400[/h]

Eddy Merckx Grand Prix Bicycle. This bike has Reynolds 753 steel tubing. It has mostly Shimano Dura-Ace parts. It has some rust on it and it has a 3 holes on the underside of the top tube. This bike is estimated (by an Eddy Merckx dealer) to be from 88-90. I measured the frame size to be 48 cm. I measured from the center of the crank to where the top tube and seat tube meet (measurement is shown in pictures). Sales tax must be collected. Feel free to ask any questions!

Thought this one was a bit overpriced. Then I reached the picture of the bottom of the top tube. Yikes.

OUCH....

If it was only about 3" taller, I might pay the $14.00 asking price for that bike

Welcome to the Wacky Thread!!!!

That is a tall bike for an MTB.

I looked up the 87 Avalanche... Found this from 2012.
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...lose-sane.html

And, I think the same bike for sale today!!!!
Budget Bicycle Center - Vintage 1987 GT Avalanche All-Terra Mountain Bike Suntour XC 18" bicycle Toyo

So, perhaps you can expect years worth of reposts for your Avalanche!!!!!!!

I do find it interesting that expensive "quality" MTBs were all the rage in the mid 80's.
And it is hard to give them away today.

Yet, despite decades of hard use, my old Road Bike has pretty much held its value, perhaps even appreciated some, at least considering that I had bought it used years ago.
