I'm 6'1" and ride 24-25 inch frames almost exclusively, with a 100-110 stem. I found it was better for my torso length. With a bike the size I have been told I should ride, I could check the tire clearance on the fork, haha. I like to hide the front axle with the straight part of the bars. Works so far. The seatpost height is mostly decided by the frame IMHO. Small frame, long post. Frame closer to your size, shorter post. That bike looks like it is set up about where I would ride it, frame size and all.,,,,BD
BD - What size is your Moto Grand Touring? Mine is a 23". I'm 6'2" and was blown away at how well it fits. The point I'm trying to make is that you can't go on dimensions alone; or at least not a single dimension like ST length. As someone else has said, TT makes a big difference (the GT for example is long) as does stand-over (once again the GT stands high), stem length, angle, seat position, etc, etc. Nevertheless, if OP is knocking his nads at every stoplight, it's time for a smaller frame. If I had a smaller frame, I'd trade in a 58 cm heartbeat.

Go figure, the gold Super Course is 25 inches center to top on the seat tube. Top tube on the other hand, is 22.5 C-C. I KNEW it felt short, hehe. It looks a lot bigger than it is. I have another 71 SC, that has a very short head tube for it's size. It makes the bike seem a lot smaller when you're looking at it. Any chance this bike was custom ordered for someone? I've never seen a three inch difference between top and seat tube before?,,,,BD
The moto I think is a 60cm, it is stamped on the head lug IIRC. This SC is stamped 60 on the same lug.

I didn't bother to read the entire thread, so sorry if this was mentioned... All I could think of when seeing this bike was those Bertoli pizza commercials. Sweet bikes though!

I just finished this build yesterday afternoon for a riding buddy who will be using it on a San Francisco to Los Angeles charity ride the first week in June. It's a 1994 Paramount (Reynolds 753 OS) built by Waterford for Schwinn after the '93 bankruptcy, and was repainted by Waterford in 2003 in the current Candy Red to Daytona Blue fade with 1993 silver PARAMOUNT decals. We used new 11-speed Campy Chorus components with a compact double.
The bike as in the photo weighs 19.8 pounds, and it is stunning.

'84 Specialissima w/'99 Campy Record Gruppo
Had to use the original Record Cranks and front derailure, but it all works great.

My Ciocc. Unknown vintage. Probably a Mockba.
Found in a creek, spray painted. Got new powder coat and repro decals. Now running Ultegra SL and found a white Selle Rolls to top it off. LOVE IT!

Thanks! Yes, it does. I finally took some pictures outside. My neighbor has put about 700 miles on it and really loves it.

Bump...
I recently picked up my first frame with 130mm spacing so this thread is great inspiration! I've never had a bike with STI/ERGO so this will be an interesting learning experience...I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go Campy because I think the cable routing is cleaner looking.
Awesome bikes everyone! I especially like the 3 Rensho from mainducoyote a couple of pages back...Nice!

Riding like its 1990
I'm digging the fact you left the wheel guides on the brakes. What type of brake and pad?
You inspired me to leave the guides on for that classic look.

this is my '85 Basso Gap. Pictured is still with the Chorus rd and 6sp freewheel Chorus/MA40 wheelset. Since the photos I have completed the upgrade with 10sp rear wheel and Veloce rd. I have a mix of new and vintage - old Chorus fd, bottom bkt, headset... Cinelli 1Rstem and 66-40 bars.... Veloce 10sp shifters and rd, Centaur crankset..... I love the ride of my Basso, and the fit is like a glove for me, and I like the mix of old and new. Kind of like a new set of billet wheels and a six speed addition to a Hemi 'Cuda lol... Just on the lookout for a white Regal to replace that hard ***** Ritchie saddle...

Vuelta Pro SLs actually from Bike Island. I hate decals so I stripped them down to just black. $230 for 1600g wheels isn't too shabby.

My first bike build (and my first road bike), finished a few months ago: Campy Centaur 10-speed group on a Tange #5 Shogun frame. A fun experiment I'm really enjoying riding.

What would be a good price for 8X2 105s on Craigslist, I've seen them for $80 is it a good deal? Or is it possible to get a better deal on e-bay.
