Your sentence was a little confusing so I looked up the bike. The X-Caliber 8 bike has a 12 speed cassette with 11-50 gearing
You want to put on an 8 speed cassette with 11-42 gears
Since the Eagle SX stuff uses a Shimano HG free hub, the new cassette should work but will probably need a spacer
The derailleur should handle the smaller range of gears, but you will obviously need an 8 speed shifter. Not sure what will be involved with finding an 8 speed shifter that works with a 12 speed derailleur. I'm not sure what type of chain you will need either. You can use 12 speed chains with an 8 speed cassette, but I'm not sure if the derailleur will work with anything less than a 12 speed chain. Think I would plan on replacing the shifter, derailleur and chain along with the cassette.

Thanx , i put a luna mid drive on it, the ultra low gears are not needed, put a 42 tooth chain ring on it, just trying to get chain line happy, thanx for the info,will move on the 8 tooth cassette and space it , also need a stronger chain, the 8 sprocket cassette will allow the 7mm chain👍

makes sense. FYI, I put a 11 speed chain on an 8 speed bike. I just changed the cassette and the chain. The chainring was fine as all chains/gears have the same tooth size, its just the outside that is different. And, with friction shifters, I didn't worry about index shifting. ;-)
The one exception is 1/8" chains as those teeth are wider (as well as the chain being wider). That is what I use on my e-bike, 'cause I don't shift. :-O
