SO I ordered one of each for 2 Bikes :

IMO the ROK FORM is the Nicer Unit : In fact there's No comparison : Rubber bands Vs Bolted CNC Aluminum ???

YET You'd never know that by Google Reviews :

Or don't people like Bolting things on ? I see comments about just leaving your phone in your pocket :
Instead of using BIKE MOUNTS as your search criteria, try using "handlebar phone mounts" on Google. Quite a large selection of links to choose from.

Yeah, I'm not talking about reasonable error based on signal strength which will vary as you progress. I'm talking about completely radical top speeds which skews the ride data.

I get radical top speeds when GPS thinks I'm zigzagging through buildings and onto the river, but not very often.

I've got a beefy case for my phone on the back of which I stuck a Garmin-mounting carbuncle—I use this case specifically for cycling. I've got a generic Garmin mount on the bike. So far so good. I mostly ride with the screen off and audio notifications on, using either Ride with GPS or Cyclemeter, depending on whether I need navigation cues or not (sometimes I even use both at the same time). RwGPS is remarkably battery-efficient. Cyclemeter is less so, but I still find that I've got at least 50% charge left after a 6-hour ride using it.

Factory mount failures are common causes of complaints
Many are insecure and overloaded with devices that do not weigh more than your phone
The question I would have you ask is are you comfortable with the $600 + phone with a rubber band securing it?
Quad locks are expensive but they are cheaper than phones

My mounts take any kinds of stuff besides phone and phones have survived there any sorts of falls including a handlebar flip on one of the bikes. Yes, I have been there with rubber bands too, maybe 5 phones away.

In case anyone wants to take a flyer on it, there's a Kickstarter campaign going on right now for a phone mount that uses a combination of magnets and latches.

I personally prefer using top tube bags which keep the phone securely mounted inside, but full access to the phone is available through the thin plastic lid. It also has room for me to put things like keys, wallet, spare phone battery/charger, etc. I've used handlebar mounted phone holders before but after my phone fell out of it (luckily no damage) I decided I wanted something better. And looking down at my top tube just behind the handlebar stem is not that much of a distraction compared to looking at my handlebars. Plus I know if I wreck my bike my phone isn't going to go flying off somewhere.
