OT: Holding myself acountable

I have been doing a lot of reading on how to stay on track for fitness and weight loss. The idea of signing up for a event to make sure you stay on track kept coming up. I Looked in my area and most events are late summer and fall for biking. So I look a little more and found a event that is 2 weeks after my birthday that sounds like a blast! So I am signing up for a "Dirty Girl Mud Run" in Portland Or on June 1,2013. This is a 5k run with 11 obstacles. It is a untimed event so its all about finishing and fun. I have family up there so I am hoping for couch space. For the first time in a long time I am truly looking forwards to something!

My exwife did that one ... she loved it.

I did the Warrior Dash a couple of years back, and had a great time.

And having a target and goal for your training is always a good idea. Good luck!

Photo Joanne did the same thing. We both work better with target goals. So, she signed us up for a tri. That forced us to "train" so we can even finish the stupid thing. It's in two weeks. Have I mentioned that I hate running with a passion?

That is exactly what I did last year...in March I signed up for three events...one in May, one in July and the MS ride in October. Eventually I threw in another event in June in the mix.

So far this years I am signed up for my first and second century rides (Feb and April) and a women's cycling event in June.

I have been wanting to do a mud run like this. This one sounds like a great way to get into it and see what I can do.
