Life gets rough, and we get over it....
Well I was told that my cancer that I had a operation for was back, my weight loss stopped an nothing I did would fix it, I popped a rib out in my back that would slip out every time I tried to ride and I sunk into a deep dark pit.
I am climbing out now. A massage therapist has worked on my back and it seems good and I am ready to just take the rest one day at a time. I start riding again today, woke up at 3:30 am and could not get back to sleep because I am thinking about it.
Any ways just wanted to say hi and that I am still here, still kicking.

Go, go go!
(I wish I had something else inspirational to say. Good luck.)

depression is a terrible thing. I have suffered from it at various times in my life and have learned that exercise really helps to keep it at bay so I hope you're able to continue to get some exercise. Don't let the stigma prevent you from considering medication. At one point I think antidepressants may have saved my life. Read up a bit on fitness training. If you can slowly increase your level of riding...distance... speed....you'll continue to get more an more fit and start to lose lbs again as long as you don't compensate by eating more. If you just go for a "stroll" on a bike and do the same thing over and over you're level of fitness will stay the same. Use this forum and others as a way to stay connected to people who care and people who share at least some of your challenge. All of us have a limited time on earth and trying to spend that time positively and happily can be a challenge so we all wish you the best.

I wish you much joy and happiness on your road towards better health. Just keep cycling and smiling as you spread loving kindness along the way.

You gonna eat that?
Yep, I hear ya. Your own struggles make mine seem insignificant. I broke my arm two weeks ago, my wife sprained her ankle this past Sunday. We're both trying to drop a few pounds and not being too successful. But still being out of commission for a few weeks is tolerable, we both know we'll be on the mend. When I was younger, being told I couldn't do any activities for 6 weeks would have killed me, now I just wait it out, knowing I'll be better soon.

Keep us posted on your battle. A warrior gets bloodied, but a warrior has to fight. We hope and pray for good things for you Shelly.
I climbed out of a similar pit after breaking my neck and back in a biking accident. I am getting back to where I was in 2010. The battle is worth it. Damn the Cancer, fight it and get strong.
