Silent tubeless mounting
Hi. Ive just mounted 4 schwalbe pro one tubeless on Prime black edition carbon wheels. The tyres went onto the rims went fairly easily with a bit of pushing and pulling to get the last few cms on. I inflated them dry just to check and they all went nicely into the rims perfectly - no leaks, perfectly seated all the way round and have stayed inflated overnight. My worry is that they went on almost silently with only the hiss of my airshot decharging and a bit of light creaking as they seated. I'm just a bit worried that there was no big pop/snap as they went on. Ive since defalted them and the bead looks well seated. Is this normal or has the bead not seated quite far enough in to the rim to make the expected pop.

The test is to see how easily you can get them off the rim. If they are really difficult to get off of the rim, then the chance of burping is low, and the chance of blowing off of the rim is even lower.

I can take thsm off with a bit of force, they dont just come out, i need to force them a bit. About the same pressure you need to take tubs off a rim.

Thanks, I was jusg a bit concerned that there was no pop when it went on. I didn't want to find out that they weren't seated properly by hitting the tarmac!

Silent tubeless mounting is something I have not yet experienced. Every tire I've done has been punctuated with a lot of loud noises. Most frequently, those noises are bad words from my mouth.

This speaks to the tire bead/rim seat combo and not ant specific brands. Some combos fit tighter then others and thus are more likely to snap when that last bit of tire bead finally seats. Andy

It sounds like you did things correctly and no problems. You are good to go and got lucky. You don't need a pop, some will pop and some won't. Also a good that you did it dry, people need to do that more instead of blasting sealant everywhere if it doesn't work.

I never cared for the noise, too many tire blow offs over the years have made me a little gun shy. Just had the same situation tonight though. Mounted WTB tires on my wife's rims and they seated with no pops and held air for a few hours before I undid a bead and added the liquid. Had to inflate to 45psi to get it to seat all the way around but I could do both with the hand pump. I just assumed with the specs on tubeless improving things are just working better.
