It is indeed - seems I hadn't done as much digging as I should have. Thanks!

what does a Track Pursuit bike a Cat 1 would use look like? How much do they cost?
Looking a lower cost real bike you would see a winner use at the higher amateur levels.

I have one. I use a standard 1 1/8 straight steerer tube headset.

Any tips for getting a "crack pipe" adapter to hold onto a valve so I can pump with both hands?

I'm currently using one of the common brass ones and it's kind of impossible to get high pressure without a second pair of hands.

I see Zipp has a Track axle adapter (I have one). Does anyone know if they make a 130mm one? Spacers?

You are gonna need a buddy or learn how to pump with one hand. There exists a fancy Japanese adapter that locks on to the tube valve. But, it's pricey.

The hiro?
I've never seen one in person so wasn't sure it would fit.

The Topeak pressure rite presta works well for me and is pretty cheap. There's also this one but I've not had any personal experience of how effective it is, https://v-sprint.com/product/track-pa...-pump-adaptor/

The Topeak looks nice, will it work with smooth valves?

The track pump adapter looks just like a hiro - the side lock arm and all, about half the price.

I found a blog post that covers the Hirame/Hiro' style adapters: https://bikehabit.blogspot.com/2011/1...ad-review.html

Thanks!

The Topeak screws onto a standard threaded presta valve, it won't stay on a smooth one.

I have the Silca version and I just tried it on my FFWD disc wheel/Dugast tire combo and it worked fine.

https://silca.cc/products/hiro-locking-presta-chuck

An advantage of the Silca version is that is screws into your pump, so it fits on my Silca and my Lezyne track pumps.

Good to know, thanks.
I'm going to try the topeak, hopefully it'll be good enough. Hirame/Hiro heads show up on eBay every once in a while, maybe I'll get lucky.

How are you guys doing?
Sorry about not posting posts recently, but I was reading all the comments.
I was not knowledgeable enough to leave a comment.......

BTW I have a question about Kurt Kinetic trainer.
I planning to buy a good trainer, because I want to train more on my bike.
So I am trying to buy Kurt Kinetic Trainer, but I am so confused by the models.(Now my roommates will hate me)
https://kurtkinetic.com/products/trainers/

I found some really good deals in Craigslist(Rock and Roll, and road machine)
Rock and Roll looks really good, but I am not sure I could set up the resistance high.
Not sure if I want Rock and Roll(craigslist - around 200) or Road Trainer(craigslist - around 120)

And I am kind of confused about Pro Flywheel.
So people say that it's hard to spin up and takes longer time to slow down.
upupup said I want to have extra resistance.
Are they talking about Pro Flywheel or other product?

Thanks

Just make sure you screw it on fully and straight otherwise it won't work. The other end just pushes into a standard presta pump.

Since you keep saying you want to focus on sprinting. Get the Road machine + fly wheel. Skate board grip tape or get a machine shop to knurl the wheel interface for standing starts.

The Kurt is actually a relatively quiet trainer, so your flatmates may not hate you that much. The pro flywheel is a definite must. I could spin up to 70kph+ on the standard trainer. With the pro flywheel I'm only at about 55kph in the same few seconds. It makes a significant beneficial difference to your training

Get good quality grip tape. I use the 3M variety, or skateboart deck tape is apparently good too. Last year I found a tape that had a finer grit that I thought would be easier on the tyres. The tape wore through after 4 trainer sessions! The 3M tape lasted 3.5years of possibly hundreds of sessions and still wasn't close to dead.

Also, I wouldn't worry about a trainer tyre either. They can be expensive and if you're going to run grip tape, then in will chew the tyre up quicker. Just put the word out and grab old tyres from friends that they're going to bin. As long as they don't have big cuts in them they will work just fine and are a whole lot cheaper

Thanks for the tips
I ordered Stair Non-Slip grip tape. I will tell you how this works out later.
Also I just changed to Clincher wheel, so I don't have any messed up tyres yet and Vittoria Indoor tyre($20) price wasn't bad,
but next time I will probably use old tyres.
Also none of my friends ride bike.......

So today I got my trainer, stair grip tape and other stuffs.

I just want to tell you guys about the stair grip tape.

-DO NOT BUY the stair grip tape for your trainer.
It only lasts for few minutes.

I learn my lesson, so please don't hate me
