I suspect seller is also frustrated because bike shifts poorly (if at all) without that cable housing piece (I've never tried that so can't comment beyond guessing it won't work). I think someone could get that bike for a good price.
This Suntour Superbe Tech does not need cable housing. It is also notorious for having shifting problems and was very pricey for its time (1983 maybe). One of the many reasons Shimano took over.

Correct for cable housing. The big pulley wheel would get dirt and gunk in it and then hang up or destroy itself (especially true of the Mountech RD that used the same lower cage design for their MTB line), often taking other things with it. When used in a road setting, they were fine. I used it on a bike or two, even a rain/winter bike. Worked a treat. It even perfectly indexed a 7-speed cassette with 7-speed Shimano Sante downtube shifters!

24" Raleigh Gran Prix Frame - $100

https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/b...125056417.html

Not the prettiest belle at the ball, but the seller says they're willing to negotiate on price.

I have owned two Grand Sports. I paid about $125 total for the two. Both were complete bikes. I don't own either of them any longer. My personal opinion is that they are overrated.

Raise your hand if you've been there.

Check your spam folders - $1

Hey Craigslist Bikes!

I have emailed six of you about your bikes for sale as I need one very quickly.
No one has emailed me back, which seems impossible that the listing could have been sold and not taken down for all six.

Please check your spam folder.
cheers.

This seems like a good deal, a 1974 Raleigh Gran Sport with two wheelsets (one looks to be C-Record) and two saddles (one a Brooks) for $325 in Ann Arbor, MI

Is it a Gran Sport though? Looks to be something of better quality, in my opinion

They ride nice, and the paint scheme is tops. But I've never seen one with better than mediocre brazing. They were the most slapped together of boom-era Raleighs, and that's saying something.

I agree. I expected a bit higher quality. I currently own a British made bike from that era ('72 Holdsworth Professional) and there is no comparison in quality. I know the Holdsworth is a higher level bike but it is a big step up in quality.

That's actually a later, watered-down version; non-Reynolds, steel rims. A GS in name only, more's the pity.

Yeah, a notch or two up the totem pole. The Gran(?) Sport(?)s of that era had, somewhat paradoxically, all 531, but stamped dropouts. And they were either white with blue alternating seat-tube panels and head tube (see romperrr 's post above ^^^^), or the inverse of the same. Components were pretty comparable (Weinmanns, Stronglight big-star crank, etc).
