Schwinn Prelude
Found this bike listed as a 1987 Prelude, but the catalog doesn't show an 87 in black. Was just tuned up, new brakes, cables tires, tubes, grips this spring. Any thoughts as to value?

That’s an odd one. Thought it might be an ‘86 in gunmetal but it looks more black and the catalog specs ‘86 with 27” wheels. ‘89 had a metal flake black but there were other accent colors. Looks like an original LBS sticker from the US so probably not from out of country.
All that aside, it looks like it’s ride ready and the person who did the cables gave it plenty extra .
I’m feeling a local listing at $185 and accepting $165.

Could this bike be dark blue, and just looks black in what appears to be basement light? The lettering suggests '87 ('88 didn't have that slant), as do the non-aero brake levers.
Number on that headbadge would tell, but too much noise in the photo.
Rough data point, there's an '88 Premis (one notch above the Prelude) here, very good but not showroom, ask is $300. In the "new toilet paper" bike economy, I wouldn't be surprised to see this bike ^^^^^ fetch $175-200.

I can't tell whether the OP is buying or selling.
If selling, this bike is not ready to show. Buff and touch up the paint (I see scuffs on the right seat stay, and dull dirt around the bottom bracket shell). Clean the drivetrain, especially the chain. Depending on what I had into it, I'd replace the tires, too.
It's $300 in the DC market (now) all day long. It'd sell on the first day.
If buying, then you'd want it as a rider. What are you willing to pay. Point out the older tires and dirty drivetrain. Offer $125.

1987 Circuit
I bought this for $100 in Wilmington, NC last weekend. Complete SunTour Sprint groupset except the Ultra 6 freewheel. Sad.
Yes, the tires are ghastly. And the Shimano freewheel is unfortunate.

Extra Bits
Only missing its 27.2 seatpost and saddle. And hoods, of course. Will Rustines work?
