This is the first time I have signed into this site in three years. I first joined 13 years ago!
Well, in that time, a stray came to my door (2016) and she was so starved she was skeletal.
She is well fed now.

Well, I've got a litter of kittens and their mom living under my house. I set up some Blink cameras around the perimeter of my house to try to determine how they are getting in and out. I've got ventilation gaps all along the perimeter of my house along the foundation and critters can squeeze through the gaps. I've got Blink video clips of the cat and kittens squeezing in and out.

I don't feed the cats but since they're living under my house I guess they're mine.

If you can catch 'em, that is a good size to foster for a few days and then give away.

It is amazing how quickly feral kittens will adapt to the human environment.

They can be easily socialized when they are young. If they get too old, they won't adapt as easily.

His belly looks like a storm...

I left for work 1-1/2 hrs ago...he hasn’t moved, my wife will make the bed around him...he will rotate to his perches later...he starts checking up on me around at 3:30, then for about every hour till his nine minutes of snooze time...

Earlier this week our oven broke down after 22 years of faithful service, so yesterday I removed it from its cabinet to replace it. When I got back with the new oven, I found this in the temporarily empty cabinet:

A couple of new street art cat portraits in East London, with some expressions familiar to cat owners....
'Hell yes I'll have some of that roast chicken', content kitty

And this made me laugh, and as it was raining here in London it really struck me as a 'please let me in its raining' look, which as every cat owner knows it usually followed soon after with a 'let me out, I want to go out' look, and the cycle starts all over again....

fun post!

regarding kitties and rain -

me fave is when kitty wants to go out and it is raining

kitty pauses at threshold attempting to grok this unwelcome situation

then a light goes off and kitty goes to "the other door" again wanting to be let out

and assuming it won't be raining "there"

Booger (RIP) went out in the rain and got himself very wet. We called him a water cat. He also played in the snow.

Brings to mind the "Hamlet's Cat" soliloquy:

by William Shakespeare's Cat

To go outside, and there perchance to stay
Or to remain within: that is the question:
Whether 'tis better for a cat to suffer
The cuffs and buffets of inclement weather
That Nature rains on those who roam abroad,
Or take a nap upon a scrap of carpet,
And so by dozing melt the solid hours
That clog the clock's bright gears with sullen time
And stall the dinner bell. To sit, to stare
Outdoors, and by a stare to seem to state
A wish to venture forth without delay,
Then when the portal's opened up, to stand
As if transfixed by doubt. To prowl; to sleep;
To choose not knowing when we may once more
Our readmittance gain: aye, there's the hairball;
For if a paw were shaped to turn a knob,
Or work a lock or slip a window-catch,
And going out and coming in were made
As simple as the breaking of a bowl,
What cat would bear the household's petty plagues,
The cook's well-practiced kicks, the butler's broom,
The infant's careless pokes, the tickled ears,
The trampled tail, and all the daily shocks
That fur is heir to, when, of his own free will,
He might his exodus or entrance make
With a mere mitten? Who would spaniels fear,
Or strays trespassing from a neighbor's yard,
But that the dread of our unheeded cries
And scratches at a barricaded door
No claw can open up, dispels our nerve
And makes us rather bear our humans' faults
Than run away to unguessed miseries?
Thus caution doth make house cats of us all;
And thus the bristling hair of resolution
Is softened up with the pale brush of thought,
And since our choices hinge on weighty things,
We pause upon the threshold of decision.

From "Poetry For Cats, The Definitive Anthology of Distinguished Feline Verse" by Henry Beard, published in 1994 by Villard Books, an imprint of Random House, Inc

I have been sorta cornering the market on these tires when they show up on Ebay, but Sacha seems to want in on the action, too:

I remember your pictures, my cat with similar color, Cinnamon, once chewed the cord of the lawn mower. Fortunately, there was no electricity in it. And luckily, the tires are not interested ...
