ISO Schwinn approved rear single speed hub

Hi Im looking for a (approximately) matching rear single speed rear hub to match to the below pictured front hub. I believe the original bike had a shimano 3 speed hub which Im looking to replace. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't recall ever seeing one of these stock as a single speed, freewheel hub, but any Varsity or Continental wheel should have one of these in the back with a 5-speed freewheel on it.

Remove the freewheel, pull the hub and swap the axle to your needs. Simple way to a singlespeed Schwinn Approved high flange hub.

That's it. Pull the axle spacers and replace the axle with a generic nutted axle of the correct length and threading to fit the original cones.

I'd keep this ISO up. For $40, you should be able to buy an entire Varsity with that hub.

Thanks Kurt, thats very helpful. Interestingly the seller states that it is only compatible as a 5 or 10 speed. Judging from your business I am inclined to believe your assessment.

Are the required parts for this type of conversion readily available?
