Late 80s / Early 90s Paletti Lightning Road Bike - $1000 (East Aurora) = Buffalo, NY

per ad: Built in Modena Italy by Luciano Paletti. Front Wheel Mavic Cosmic Expert, relatively new lizard skins bar tape, Cinelli bars, Selle success Kevlar/carbon/titanium saddle, Campagnolo Chorus groupset, Mirage Cassette, and Avanti brake levers. Will need new brake pads and tires soon. Tires hold pressure and are rideable but are old. Feel free to ask any questions.

Gotta agree this is something special: A Sycip Bros.joint (and Phil branded, wonder if made in SF or in Santa Rosa?) But one point I dispute: there may be no "proper" way to spell a SoCal slang term, but when I were a wee lad I first saw it in print in a hand-out local radio-station fanzine and the writer spelled it "*****en" with an "e". And so it will always be, IMHO

later 80s Schwinn Prelude in southern NH for low dollars: https://nh.craigslist.org/bik/d/keen...153445497.html

For those of you who like your 80s bikes free of laser or Trapper Keeper graphics. Who knew they painted these a flat grey? I thought the customer could get one in any color he likes, as long as it's yellow and purple with squiggly green lines...

I'd be on my way if it'd fit me. It would fit my theme...

I lust after a Tange Ultimate Kona Hot but this seems just as good.

https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/b...153493101.html

Kona Hei Hei Titanium MTB - $650 (Sammamish)

The original cross country race bike! I picked this bike up from the Kona factory in Ferndale back in 1996. I'm not sure I've loved a bike as much before or since, but I haven't ridden it for 10-15 years since it is a little small for me. (I am 6'0".) The 19" titanium frame was built by Sandvik. Shimano XTR front and rear derailleurs, Magura Blue hydraulic rim brakes (bleed kit and fluid included), Chris King hubs. The original shock was replaced with a Marzocchi Marathon SL. I also have some replacement Hei Hei decals.

That "1970s" Trek is an '88 or '89.

Today was good for "pricy but awesome vintage MTBs" on Seattle CL
(incidentally wasn't this the bike which caused Schwinn to have to rename their aluminum frame model?)

https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/b...153645832.html

1987 Ibis Avion - $400 (Seattle)

21 inch center to center 22 top tube32 stand over.Vintage mountain bike very nice conditionMostly original even the gripsOff road tires on it now but I will include the street tires and Cannondale seat bag is included.Pretty rare in this condition and really fun to ride.Check out that fork 🥰Iíll include a picture of it when I had it set up and a dirt drop just because it looked so cool!Iíve enjoyed it for a few years now itís your turn.

Sweet deal, but the seller is a little unrealistic about how far potential buyers are willing to travel....

And it comes with "Analog shifters mounted on the downtube".
Is there anyone here who doesn't understand what the seller means? 😊
That's a short rear brake cable housing, even for me... Or is it the front that's short? The rear just mis-adjusted?

Not sure where the Elite falls in the Centurion lineup. This one might be a bit steep on the price, but the seller says it's NOS. (Clearly the Coda saddle isn't original.)

$300 Raleigh USA Competition. Description says the seller will throw in the original drivetrain parts if you want to un-modernize it.

NOS? Seller must've lifted the brake hoods for themselves, along with the original saddle. A bunch of these have popped up on CL, Ebay, and even our sale here after one old bike shop closed and sold out their old inventory.
