Can you help me identify the Bike?

Hello, I have this bike, but I donīt know what brand it is... I found some info that may be the Viking frame with Nervex professional lugs. But Im not sure if it is Viking or not. It comes with 2 pairs of wheels Campa hubs and Duralca rims. Other components are campy. Does anybody know about this frame? Thank you... Campagnolo seatpost is 27. Campagnolo English theads.

No photos, no clue. 27.0 is Columbus SP size amongst others, but that's about all you're going to get. I'm sure someone will be along in a sec with a photo assist...

Pretty bike. Very well-proportioned. Looks like it was made for a rider named "C. Kern":

Did a quick search, but haven't found him. Whatever it is, it looks quite decent. Enjoy!

Kern could be a Swiss surname, cannot tell from the shot of the head tube whether there are any filled-in holes for a headbadge, but I believe a Viking would have had a badge (correct?)

The style of the fork is a bit reminiscent of some that Viking made. The seat stay treatment - considerably less so.

Assuming that it is Columbus, a 27.0mm post of a track frame with round section fork blades would be representative of PS rather than SP.

SL = strada, leggera = road, light
SP = strada, pesante = road, heavy
PS = pista, sprint = track, sprint
PL = pista, leggera = track, light

Assuming the fork is OEM to the frame, a Columbus tubeset can be verified by the presence of a Columbus steerer tube, which will have Columbus' dove logo stamped on the outside and five helical ridges on the inside, at the bottom.

BB Numbers

Numbers stamped into the BB shell are the angles not a serial number. Maybe the seat lug too but can't read it clearly.

From what I can tell the seat lugs has at least "73" and then another mark which may be the degree "•" or possibly another digit, but I'd bet it's a degree symbol. And the pinch bolt says "ITALY".

"C. Kern" wouldn't be just any amateur to have had such a bike made, methinks. How about giving Christophe Kern a call?

Based on the components and the Nervex lugs, I'd say that this bike was being ridden 10 years before Christophe Kern was born...

No idea what the "JS" on one rim could mean, or the big "A" on one hub barrel but that hub is a Campagnolo. My guess is those letters are some after-market decals that some previous owner used to personalize the wheel(s) and neither seems to have any connection to "C. Kern" (dontcha think?)

The fork uses the "22mm" blades... the PL tube set. but the seatpost if correctly sized, the seat tube could be PS.

Reasonably clean workmanship. those crowns could receive or not get various cuts to them from the foundry. This one is more on the plain side.

Threading type may provide a Nationality.

Ignore the KERN, the bike has been repainted.... got a stamp set?

Viking Head Tube Badge

I have a head tube badge (NOS) for a Viking if you want to add it to your bike. I has a Viking as my first drop bar racing bike when I was 14 and loved it.

The hole centres are 60mm apart.

Message me if you are interested!
