'Wellgo WPD-800' pedals?

'Wellgo WPD-800' pedals?
I picked up a bike last week that came with extra pedals. They are 'Wellgo WPD-800' pedals. I've never heard any thing about them. Interested especially as it seems that they are compatible with the SPD system that I have been using. Any info will be appreciated.

The 800s were dual-sided SPD pedals that were sold as a cheaper alternative to Ritchey Logics. Came in a bunch of colors if memory serves.
The biggest issue with these was the spring retention system. They don't work as well as other brands when gunked up. Not sure whether that was the hardware, the design, or both.
So a lot depends on what kind of riding you do, and in what conditions. If you regularly ride in bad weather, I'd opt for a different brand. If you're a fair weather rider, shouldn't be a problem.

I don't know exactly what cleat they're compatible with, whether they're actually SPD compatible or just similar to SPD. But I've used Wellgo pedals of various types (both Wellgo branded and ones they make for other branding) for many many years without any issues at all. I haven't found them to be any more or less functional than Shimano. If they're in good shape and you have cleats that work with them, they'll most likely be fine.

I've been using Wellgo pedals for many years and had several sets of 800's. They are compatible with Shimano SPD cleats or generic 98A cleats.

When you get Wellgo pedals from the shop they usually come with a pair of generic SPD cleats, but Shimano cleats work with them as well without a problem.

Yes, they are fine. Nothing to write home about but they are serviceable.

Spouse/stoker has been using a pair of Nashbar pedals on our tandem for several years that would appear to be 800’s. Her first experience with clipless. I used them before she did - don’t know how many miles total. They still spin like champs.
