So many wheel sizes! Oh my!

I just looked in the basement. I have bicycles with the following wheel sizes:

20" 406
20" 451
26"
650c
700c

I just need 16", 24", 650b, 27" and the new 750d for the straight flush!

I was looking through my collection of old tubes to give one to my grandson. I never throw out tubes especially if they are a size that I have on an active bike. I gave him a 26 in tube. Further investigation reveals that all five bikes in my garage run 700c. No little kids around so that’s good for me. I remember when that was a radical choice. Enjoy!

My garage has:
24" 520 <- TWO bikes with these
26" 559
650c 571<- three bikes
700c 622

And the amazing thing is there is a Panaracer Pasela for each of these sizes and more.

Don't forget the addition of 700 rim widths. Tires got fatter, then rims got wider. Or maybe it happened almost simultaneously.

I have a few different tires around here.

12 1/2" 203 - Ridekick e-trailer (my new toy as of this week)
16" 305 - trailer
20" 406 - Bike Friday
20" 451 - recumbent front
26" 559 - oodles of bikes (my favorite wheel size)
700C 622 - racer, fixie
27" 630 - recumbent rear

Used to have 24" 507 when my son was younger. Still keep tubes in all these sizes plus 26" 570 for when I have to work on them for other people.

What, you don't have a 16" 349, 18" 355 or a 17" 369? Or a 26" 584, 26" 590 or a 28" 635?

(Yes, 17" wheels are larger than 18", 27" are larger than 27.5", and 28" are larger than 29" because bicycle.)

Fixed that for ya!

700cc would be for a motorbike engine or a hospital IV or injection. 700c is the same size as a 29er 29er is more a marketing term in a more real sense but not saying it like it is a bad thing as some people would but just as a useful way to distinguish road and off road.

My style of keeping things simple is to ride on 20"/406 front and 26"/559 rear wheels on all three of the recumbent bikes I ride - 2 short wheelbase single bikes and a tandem that I share with my spouse/stoker.

If rolling angle is so damn important, just go with the 36" wheel.

I found it amusing that Schwalbe cited the ISO 635 size on this tube:

its pretty simple:

20" for kids bikes and recumbents
26" for off road bikes
27" for road bikes

Forget about the rest of them.

I figured that must be a typo, but after looking it up, I guess that tube is intended to span a really wide range of wheel sizes:
