I'm doing my best to resist the urge to bug my shop about when my bike will be ready, it's a true test of self control.

Isn't is nice you and I live in a ride most of the year climate, you really lucked out if you are on the north western edge of SC, all those stunning roads every where. I hardly ride near me anymore, Caesars Head is the beginning of great riding, although last year I did the Whitewater Falls road up towards Cashiers NC. This is some serious great riding.

My favorite climb and dive is the climb from Balsam Gap on the Parkway , south to Waterrock Knob. About 8 miles ( from my put in place) and I sweat blood and tears getting up there but the ride down is so nice and fast and scenic..I usually
grab a breath and do it over again.
well worth the few minutes!! Action starts about 1:09, he starts passing motorcycles in the next minute or so.

It IS cheaper to get it as a group on a bike though.

When I was doing the upgrade, I of course needed the charger. Some vendors included it as as packaged group. Some didn’t. Some, like Jenson, didn’t do groups, it was all ala carte, but a similar price for what you needed, you just had to do the research to make sure you got what you needed. As I price an XT 1X upgrade, I don’t need a charger and pretty much all the online vendors will break up a group and sell individual parts. Hard to tell if it’s cheaper or pricier.
It IS cheaper to get it as a group on a bike though.

My bike showed up today, pleased, but not thrilled. The bike had a minor driveside fall and scratched up the Ultegra RD a bit. All works fine however but I know I'm going to replace the RD because of that. The Di2 was sort of easy to figure out and seems to work perfectly.
The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes work really well, but the levers seem to travel pretty far towards the bars, it doesn't feel like air in the system but I'm thinking it might be good to replace the brake pads. Expect to do a 45 mile shakedown this Saturday and dial in the fit, I know I'm close but those little changes are where it's at.
some pictures coming!

Hydro self-adjusts - replacing the pads isn't going to change the travel. Current Ultegra and DA have a travel adjustment under the hoods, but the default is the least amount of travel and most people never touch them.

Thanks WhyFi, I was poking around a bit under the hoods, I'll look again. The bar wrap is new but badly done so that will give me an excuse to rewrap.
The bike is a 2016.... should there be shifters in the hoods ? I wasn't able to find them but then again I have no clue what I am looking for

Do a search for the model number of your levers and add "reach and free stroke adjustment" - your levers may or may not have the same adjustments and the screw locations may be different than in the following video, but this should give you an idea of what you're looking for.

This is a second hand bike. The seller did decide to include a charger and cord, brand new, for 1/2 price. The system is 2016 and is listed on the specification form as having a Dura Ace Di2 front shifter and an Ultegra Di2 rear shifter.
I have not seen the bike but expect it to arrive today or tomorrow.

2)Make sure your RD is aligned properly. If it's scratched, it may have been put out of specs.

Just getting my first Di2 shift bicycle. It is arriving without a charger. Price for that little charger and cable is more than I would have expected...any hints, work arounds or used chargers out there.
Actually any input about Di2 shifting would be helpful
Thanks in advance

Has anybody's charger ever crapped out? My Android charging cables always have a limited lifespan. I use them a lot more, so it makes sense, but... I plan to keep the bike a very long time and I'm not sure how easy it will be to get a new charger in 5+ years if I need one.

But after only two rides with di2, I am absolutely hooked, it is fantastic. Everyone that I talked to before buying it was right, I don't ever want to go back. Now I'm gonna have to upgrade the gravel bike. lol

I haven't been on the bike since August because of an injury. All of a sudden we have perfect weather so I had to take advantage. I also just moved across town, and didn't know which box my charger was in. I called the couple shops near me to see if they could charge it since my battery was 100% dead, and neither of them have the charger for my generation around. Got the wheels turning in my head. It's fun to upgrade, but I'm happy with what I have.

That's what I was thinking. My biggest problem is going to be making sure I don't lose track of it before I need it again!
