been watching a flick called Paddle to Seattle "Two best friends build their own kayaks and paddle alone for 97 days in the wilderness over 1,300 miles from Alaska to Seattle and survive to talk about most things"

Saw it..not a bad flick.

There's a Race to Alaska every year that's very entertaining to follow. The guy that writes the day-by-day status-blog is a very good writer...fun read. First prize for the race is $10K cash nailed to a post. Second place is a set of steak knives. I think in the race last year the second place steak knives prize went to a team a vegans...so it goes..fitting for the race. The race has been held for 5-6 years and has a good following.

Whether by paddleboard, rowboat, bicycle paddlewheel, or sailboat..

"No motor, no support, all the way to Alaska. The physical endurance, saltwater know-how, and bulldog tenacity to navigate the 750 cold water miles from Port Townsend, Washington, to Ketchikan, Alaska."

Past race daily-blogs are available on the site.
