Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mine came with commemorative socks and everything, so I'd say they are pretty darn special.

Nice. Landslide is better. I was living in Chicago when the Pumpkins were killing it. Chicago loves Billy Corgan and Eddie Vedder.

Correct and it’s 40 years old and awesome.

I also have the Campagnolo offset wrench to fine tune the saddle position and levelness.

I have one of those somewhere too, but I donated all my Record stuff a few years ago. Actually, that's not quite correct, I still have a Campy seatpost binder bolt on my Peter Mooney.

Oh, and handedness doesn't indicate dominant leg. One suggested way of finding your dominant leg is to put your feet together and have someone give you a push forward (without you knowing the exact timing) - the leg that you stick out to keep yourself from hitting the deck is your dominant leg.
Interesting stuff and yes, I do stick my left leg out or put it down first when stopped.

You have got to be kidding. That is atrocious. It is all about Stevie's voice. Without it, what's the point? Leather and Lace!

That is easy to take care of. Just give it one more 1/4 turn with the Allen key. It will break (they all do), and you can be Campy free.

I have lived in fear of that event for 40 years. If and when I pop it, there's another on on my wife's bike.

I love Stevie as much as the next guy, but that cover is really good too.

If you are fixated on the original, that could mean you are old.

Honestly, I was just pulling your chain. I am so ignorant about FM. Stevie is just about all I know except that there have been decades of FM recording and touring history both before and after her. Her voice just does something to me. And Bonnie Tyler. Oh man, Bonnie Tyler.

You aren't serious about me being old, right?

My need is actually to convince myself I'm making progress when it feels like I'm not - that's when I'm prone to start working way too hard and get myself injured. But the numbers don't lie, so chill, recover, and let time work its magic.

What do you use to measure HRV? I've been considering getting on the WHOOP bandwagon, again not so much to optimize my efforts as to make sure I get enough recovery. I can of course feel my pulse and tell roughly where I'm at, problem is I don't know how reliable that is.

Heh. That happened to me BITD. I had to ride some four miles out of the saddle. Fortunately it was on a flat M.U.P. Found a hardware store in the next town. Guy fitted the bike with a bolt and nut that got me home.
