road bike tires

Seem to recall reading a while back that there was a difference between 27 x 1.25 and 27 x 1 1/4 tires. Can't find it so this is the place to ask! Thanks

I think if there was a difference, Sheldon would have mentioned it here: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html

Now the industry is specific .. a bead seat diameter in MM is engraved in the mold, used heating
thus vulcanizing the rubber. into being the tire ...

look for 32- 630 , width & BSD...

Where did you find a 27x1.25"?

A 27 is a 27, but for other sizes, decimal & fractional ARE different bead seat diameters.

Even then, there are 2 different 26x1-3/8" sizes.
