My commuter/mini van

Tomorrow, I start committing with my 5 and 3 year old. At 280 lbs now, this should be a fun adventure. My goal is to commute 5 days a week, 22 miles a day. I lost 20 lbs during lockdown and gained weight the last week not riding(i hit a gaurd rail at 36mph) and being back to work. Any advice for being a clyde and commuting with kids?

Good luck with it! You wont be long bringing the weight down if you keep at it. The kids will love it, they're at the right age to appreciate it. I'm jealous😁. My commute is 17 miles each way and I'm still working up the courage to do it. This is the sort of thing your kids will remember when they're older. Precious!

I hope they remember and appreciate spending our time together when they get older. Day 1 was a fail, I got a flat right away so I headed home. Try again on Monday.

17 miles is a long haul. I don't blame you for needing to work up the courage, I have been working at this all lockdown to get my girls on a bike with me.

I started with 2 miles to and from the bus stop to 2 in the morning and 6.7 home, I was just getting to all 11 home 1-3 times a week before lockdown. I averaged 70 a week during lockdown before my crash. It's not easy, just 1 day at a time.
