Beautiful Colnago. I'm not really up on current Colnago prices but I would guess $1200 +/-. I'm sure the Colnago fans will be able to give you a better idea.

It sure is beauti

How long have you had this bike? I presume this bike has been restored, (aside from the wheels).

It has many nice pantographed pieces, but I feel they might not all be from the same model group[By this I meant panto group. Individual creative variations occurred as well as broader changes that took place (such as with chain rings), which can lead to inconsistent mash-ups when pantographed parts bought separately are put on a particular frame.] To the cognoscenti, the degree to which the bicycle is unchanged from the day it left the factory, may strongly influence the price. I certainly could be mistaken, it's been a few years since I focused on the panto timelines.

Yes the black Fiame label are NOS, the yellow label are much lighter but probably belong on late 60s early 70s bike.
the Panto parts are a match according to my research correct if wrong, and I think late 70s.
bike has been totally restored, I did it maybe 3 years ago stickers are proper also and all new.

I have a similar model and would have a hard time selling it even for 2K+.
Did a nice 50m ride today and was glad I chose it over my carbon options.

Colnago

I’m not sure you guys are appreciative of how difficult it is to find the complete pantograph set, I don’t care what it’s worth actually it’s not for sale, it cost more to do than what it’s worth anyway.

It's a nice looking bike, and I'm sure it rides well (do you ride it?). You should start a build thread on it. Would love to see more detailed pics of it too.

I do agree, as previously mentioned, that some items don't look period "correct" and "matched", but since you built it as you wanted, to keep, does that really matter? It would really only matter if you wanted to sell it (and then you'd get the barrage of "it's worth more parted out").

What's the story with the stem? I have yet to find a picture or example of another with the front logo having the black circle and club logo. The others I've seen all have a C with the club logo between the tips of the C.

The "German Shop" price is extreme. Reasonably comparable ones sell on eBay for considerably less. Locally to me, if that were for sale at $2K it would never sell. It would have to be listed on a more global marketplace to get anywhere near that price.

Realistically, if I wanted to doll-up my Colnago, which I would if cost were not an issue, I could spend 10 minutes on ebay and have every single one of those panto parts (aside from the "odd" logo'd stem), and even more panto'd items at my doorstep in a week or two. I were going to do that, I'd also go full-on and buy some "flag" panto brakes.

Yes - its all a matter of perspective.

My '71 Big Block Cheyenne is a bottomless pit that green paper falls into constantly. At least when the bike is done , it doesnt keep asking for more -- LOL

Shop prices are meaningless. First, its still at the shop, so it's certainly has NOT sold for that price. Secondly, shops tend to get a premium over private sellers. I have consigned some of my bikes, because the shop can mark it up 50%, I give them 25% and I am still ahead.

I've never, ever considered shop prices to apply to private party sales.

+10 Locally here it would not bring $2K. I've bought a couple of nice Colnagos here at low prices. Now that John is in town, I have competition....

The price deltas between shops and online sales is based on many legitimate factors required for running a physical not web based business.
For buyers that need shop support, the LBS is worth the price delta.
I also feel like a desirable item in New Old Stock (NOS) condition can be valued and priced much higher than close to mint condition bikes.

Really? How do you account for the fact that I (politely, I might add) suggested that the value might not be as high as you expected, because the panto stuff was not of a matching group? I complemented you on the appearance, collectors valuations are not based solely on beauty...

I don’t care what it’s worth actually it’s not for sale,
Well then, great. It is a beautiful bike, and should ride well.

it cost more to do than what it’s worth anyway.
On a purely financial basis, at present, that may or may not be true.
I (and I am willing to bet a few other BF members also) have spent more to build or restore more than one bike, in order to have the bike I wanted.
I hope that you find way more value in the other factors you cited, and have a great time with it.

This is one of only two known, and photo documented Colnago "Mexico" frames with Campagnolo 1010 dropouts, FWIW.

Detail: NOS Colnago/Clement Criterium Seta tires, as well as the Ernesto Colnago pantograph on the hub barrels. The Ambrosio rims are labelled "Corse Colnago". The wheels are original and an a matched pair and the frame and fork bear the proper coresponding shop stamps.

I never liked the 3 bar pantos as much as the earlier versions. 74 was my favorite with the club inside the "C"
and the 4 card suits, on all 4 levers and the seatpost.
