On a side note, does anyone know what headset the 1990 Trek Multitrack 750 takes? I know it's 1" threaded but not sure if 26.4" ISO or 27" JIS.

Not sure if it's super rare but lugged True Temper is nice. (I associate them more with the TIG welded era)

Lugs are pretty.

The 790/750/720 should all have the same frame, just different components. These are hybrids that came stock with 700c wheels and the same geometry as the 520.

I don't know for every year but for 1992 the 790 and 750 used the same frame, True Temper, double butted CroMo.

They are nice, well balanced bicycles.
The frame is not particularly light weight.
What I really like is you can mount relatively fattie 40-622 tires with lots of clearance.

{Pushes up nerdy glasses} I believe you will find that the 720 frame was of a somewhat lesser quality. However, being a Trek, it is still an excellent bike.

I put together a Trek 720 for my mom after she retired. It has a decal pointing out its "cro-moly seat tube" or something to that effect. Certainly not the same frame as a 790

for 1992, the 790, 750 and the 720 are cro-moly. I forgot the 720 is not DB.
