Rabeneick Modell Campagnolo - Finished!
I cannot believe that it took me two years, and then some, to complete this 1958 German bicycle, a Rabeneick 120d, commonly referred to as the Rabeneick "Modell Campagnolo". But, at last the bike is done and ready for the road adjusting...
Stronglight "Competition" cottered cranks with Simplex alloy rings...
Thanks to another forum member, this Grand Sport front derailleur completed the transmission...
Another forum member helped with the long reach Universal brake caliper...
Another forum member supplied one of the levers (not the best tape job)...
A set back, or two (broken down tube shifter clamps), I went with Campy Barcons to complete the tranny...
In truth, I don't intend to spend much time riding the Rabeneick. It is a lovely bike but a wee bit on the small side for me.

That is an absolutely gorgeous restoration! I'm particularly fond of the contrasting gold fork, head tube and seat tube panels - very unique and striking.

Thanks for the kind words, all. Perhaps "done" is not the right word to use. Most of my bikes are not "done". Most still need a little something and the Rab is no exception...
In need of an Italian lower steering cone to complete a Campy Record head set. This new thing will do for now...
Would not mind finding the proper seat post bolt. Not even sure what it looks like...
I really do not intend to ride the bicycle much. Even if I did, my old legs cannot push this freewheel set with any degree of comfort (unless going with the wind or down hill)...
Two down tube shifters failed me. One, the first, snapped in half and the second would have done so, also, had I attempted to install it. It so happened that I had forgotten that I had a set of Campy Barcons tucked away and they got used on that day. I guess they will remain...
If the bike were a tad bigger, it might well become a keeper. As things stand now, I am thinking wall hanger until a new home is found...
Not sure but this might be my last build. Poor eyesight and arthritic hands make building a chore, and sometimes a painful one. I still have my early sixties Torpado to restore...
And a Quintanna Roo, a Bianchi Grizzly and a 1968 Carlton Corsair that I intend to build as a Single Speed. The Roo, the Bianchi and the Carlton are next Spring's (if I make it) for sale items, to be sold locally...
