Have someone watch you to see if the cassette is spinning & not engaging the hub, or if the chain is riding over the top of the rings/cogs.

You can look down and see if the chain is riding over the chain rings at least.
You are using 8 speed chain I presume. 7 & less speed is wider and may not fully seat between the cogs on the cassette.

You can check for stiff links.
Rotate crank backwards slowly.
Observe RDER.
It'll make a noticeable "twitch" if a stiff link passes through.
I see "some" rust spots on the chain. Maybe there's worse places?

IF the LBS has replaced cassette, chain & crank since Sept, I'd let THEM explain it.

IF they installed a new crank, definitely.
You haven't been "tweaking" any screws on the DER's have you?

LBS - I infer to be Local Bike Shop."

Now you use "DER's" and assume I know what you are talking about. Sorry... No, I don't.

Yes, I know that I will have to go back to the Bike Shop but I wanted to get some research down so I could have some talking points to discuss the problem that has not been resolved to-date.

I have not tweaked anything. All I did was get the crank replaced on Sunday and go for a 3 mile loop test on Monday. Based upon the situation, I came here for some information from those who know more about bicycles than I.
You aren't where you come from.
There's like TWO other parts involved in the problem area.

DER = Derailleur, F = Front, R = Rear
LBS = Local bike shop

It may be a trick of the lens, but that does not look like a new cassette. It looks like excessive wear on gears 4 and 6, at least. Does the chain skip in all gears?

I think the paradox of
You aren't where you come from.
was too much for them. If they read that as a question instead of a statement, they totally missed the point.
