Nice find! Bio-pace points to it being late 1980s. There should be a date code on the back side of the cranks and derailleurs, which this page can help decode: https://vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm

Early 90s, almost certainly. Mongoose was making some nice bikes back in this era. I've worked on a few and found them to be nicely equipped and very smooth-riding. Enjoy!

The only problem with the bike is that it is a bit too small for me.
I knew that when I bought it.
It hasno rust, the Exage 500LX group, Araya wheels, and Dia Compe brakes.
But at $25 CDN (About $18.25 US) I could not leave it there...

It's always a dilemma for me to find a barely ridden bike in the wrong size like that. My emotional side wants to keep it intact, but the practical side says "What a great set of components to build up my frame! All for only $25!"
