Surly Knard Tires

Anyone ride these? I'm looking at the 650b x 41 mm version.

I have used some 700x41 in 27tpi or 33tpi knard tires. They are heavy and slow. But that's to be expected for a tire thats such a low tpi and low cost.

no experience with the 120tpi version, but I know they are a lot lighter, as in probably a pound lighter combined front and back.
for the 120tpi price, there are other tires that are lighter and faster while also good flat protection.

I haven't used 650 for gravel before- isnt the benefit the ability to run a 48mm or so tire?

I have the 700x41 33tpi Knards on my Cross Check, which was my gravel rig until I got my 650B Rove(with ByWays).
The Knards do perfectly fine on lots of different terrain at least here in SoCal--dry rocky fire roads, potholled LA streets, singletrack. Good all-around tire. They seem pretty tough--never had many flats running them.

I recently purchased a Cannondale Slate and it has some tight chainstay clearance so 48mm are definitely out.

I was considering the 700x41 knard's but according to Surly they do not recommend setting them up tubeless. I went with a tubeless ready tire instead.
