Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anybody looking at divorce rates right now?

In lighter news I get to go home today, have not actually gotten to do a ride in about 3 weeks so I am hoping that tomorrow morning before the rain comes I can get one in.

Fun fact since I have been back at work I have been stuck in **** weather. While at work non stop shooting approaches to minimums and moderate turbulence, (wx perfect at my house). I get home and the weather quickly turns to rain.

I blame velo for this case of terrible no good bad luck.

3 am off to work I go.
We actually had a domestic violence murder right across the street from us a little over a month ago. Boyfriend/common law husband killed the woman. He is in jail as far as I know. But with that fresh on our minds, my wife has been directly concerned with people in rough situations spending more time in those rough situations. She's also a teacher so she knows some kids who are better off at school. It's a really hard world out there.

I have to admit that I got used to riding the Cervelo naked: no tool roll, spare tube, pump, lights, only one water bottle, etc. I now feel little pangs of remorse when I lift it off the wall, fully laden. It's still markedly lighter than the Domane, but oh, what it could be if only I had a SAG wagon at my beck and call.

Might look for a place where they're controlling entry and marking the floor to maintain interpersonal distance at checkouts. Makes a hell of a lot of sense.

All of mine are pretty distinct from one another, so there's really no redundancy. I've got a HH Schecter six string, a Telecaster, a long-scale 7 string, and an acoustic. I especially like having multiple six-string electrics so that I can keep them in different tunings. Right now the tele is tuned to standard and the Schecter is dropped a whole step. The 7 string just lives in standard tuning all the time, sometimes I drop the B down to A because why not

Same story with my basses, I've got two identical active pre-amp six strings but one is fretless, a passive single-coil 5 string tuned E-C, and a vintage 4 string Gibson.

Make sure brakes are aligned and pistons are retracting well first. In my admittedly limited experience (2 bikes) a proper setup should accommodate a mm or two of runout.

I spent most of my outdoor time on yard work and stripping paint from the bed of my El Camino. I decided to do a bed liner, but there is rust galore underneath the quick paint job that was done on the truck at some point. LOTS of rust. I will have quite a few hours into it when it's done.

I also sold two guitars at the same time. Thinning the herd and it feels great.
A trick for rust. Mix vinegar and water 4 to one. Scrub the rust with a red scotch bright pad.(you need to degrease and remove any loose particles first) Allow it to dry overnight. Hit it again with the mix and scrub it more. Rinse with water and dry it. Allow to air dry completely before priming.
I used a spray bottle to apply to the underside of my firebird. Did the entire bottom of the car. Then primed and painted it. It works great as prep for painting process.
There is an acid in vinegar that kills the rust. It doesnt take much. Treated metal will acquire a yellowish tint, it's not oxidation dont panic.
look on youtube DIY auto body. My friend Pete. South west rod and custom.

In-hospital telemedicine too, apparently. They gave my dad an iPad for consults that don't require physical interaction.

Even my Costco is doing this, now. Well, w/r/t the marked floors at checkout; I haven't seen them limiting entry, but I make a point of going when it's relatively slow (I've been making full use of Google's device tracking for live foot traffic conditions at stores).

This is an interesting and tragic situation. Back during the financial meltdown, I read of a British high roller who suffered devastating financial losses. His response was to murder his family and take his own life. A bit closer to home, at the boat yard where I worked, we built a 65 ft. motor yacht for a Florida family, one with a very nice home on a canal in Ft. Lauderdale. In response to financial setbacks, the husband took his own life leaving the wife and three kids to face the future on their own.

Psychologists have found that high levels of stress cause weird and or destructive behavior where animals abuse and even kill their children. This includes human animals as is easy to see in the news. It is also interesting that caregivers tending to an ill family member suffer elevated levels of stress where their own health may suffer.

I assumed that he's done that already since he said it's just the most minuscule bit of contact. At that point, I'd just make sure the gap is backlit so that I could ID the point of rub and give it some love.

I wish the stores we use were. Two local markets use 60 as their old people criterion, but the store is normally empty at 0600 anyway!

It does make sense for people who have it to wear the masks. However, since you are contagious before you are symptomatic, act as if you have the virus at all times. If you wait until you think you have it, you’ve spread it.
