Addiction LXXVII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Kidding aside, I’m getting worried too. Almost wish that DC government shutdowns all construction sites as well. It would be disastrous to my neighborhood with lots of families has only one breadwinner, who works in construction though.
I understand and worry especially about the labor crews driving to sites 4 and 5 to a car.

There's a builder in my area that has specialized in steel for quite some time, but he wanted to start making some Ti frames. I don't think that he wanted to sell his practice frames, because he's picky about his work, but he also didn't want to "waste" too much Ti. Solution? He built a few balance bikes -

Lol. Do you think that this is an itch that you would repeatedly scratch or do you think that the novelty would wear off pretty quickly?

The main issue is just not riding enough at all to justify another roadie. I'd love a steel or Ti bike, but with the R2 there's just no need. Summer big mileage is on the P2, and charity rides are getting increasingly frustrating.

Phrased differently, there's a lack of opportunity to do the soul-crushing, but if I rode with semi-random groups regularly I'd enjoy it. Certainly it never got old beating people on a road bike in tris.

Sure, that kind of redundancy is hard to justify at the prices that we're talking about.

... but if it were a steel or Ti gravel bike...

yup, that’s a worry. The company I work for also has a very large project a couple of hours south of us and the word was, the owner of the project will be starting to check temperature of every worker on the job site before they’re allowed in. Words “Delay letter” was immediately brought up to their attention by multiple parties if I’m to believe.

I understand both sides of the equation (at least I’d like to think that I do), but At times like these, I’m kinda glad I’m firmly stuck in middle management where I don’t have the burden of knowledge my decisions have the potential to affect hundreds of people’s lives. In my small circle, I’ve had my guys rotating between office and telework, I just hope it is enough.

First proper ride on my new MTB.

Steel is definitely real

What's also real is people that didn't drive together hanging out and chatting in the parking lot

Just saw on my local news that some day cares are still open. I am kind of shocked. And even worse the news was reporting it like it was a good thing.

My dad calls his clubmates "the old men". Except for one that is about 80, they are all 10 years younger than he is.

.
The props being out of sync never bothered me. When I was an FO on the dash 8, Captains would lose there **** if the props were not synced.
