Albion XDT Triple Crank

Has anyone tried this crank? If so, what's your experience? Thanks.

Looks like a typical 110 74 triple. Bet it works fine.

That's got to be a rebranded sugino triple and that's a fine 110/74 bcd crank. Personally I'd just buy the sugino.

Agreed the Sugino would be best but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $50 for my light tour need.

They've gotta be the same thing. I toured on a Sugino XD for several months. It was fine, gave me no trouble. The Q-factor is a little smidge wider than other cranks, but not excruciatingly so, like a modern MTB crank. Chainrings are easy to get and readily available in sizes from 24 to 54, with some still-larger sizes for tandems, small wheels, and human powered vehicles as well.

But you can get a used Sugino XD for maybe $40 and other, older cranks for even less, on Ebay. I don't know why anyone would pay full price for a brand spankin new 110-74 crank these days. They are so readily available.

I do find it harder to source 170mm 110/74 cranks as their a gazillion out there built for the mtb world with 175mm arms.

I decided to try these BikinGreen 46/30t rings on some 110 Sugino arms:

Thanks for the replies. I am certainly open to a used crank but a check on ebay didn't offer much.

What exactly are you looking for? Particular length or chainring sizes? I'm guessing if you posted in the iso/for-trade thread you'd quickly get set up, as long as you aren't looking for anything terribly exotic.

The smaller ring is attached to the larger ring, not the spider.

Nothing exotic, 48or 46/ 36/ 26 or 24. 170, 172.5 or 175mm.

That's just a cool way to retrofit sugino mighty cranks for a more knee friendly gearing set up. The price is high but not crazy at $77 from eBay. It certainly beats the price for an IRD wide compact or the Velo Orange TA copy (both run around $200 with arms and 46/30 rings). How do you like them? Did this push out your right crank arm a bit? I may have to get a set.

Only one longer ride so far on that bike and shifting was fine. Finding a BB to fit wasn’t an issue though I don’t know how it would compare with a conventional 110bcd crank. I’ve had that crank around for several years; it’s 165mm, and I didn’t have a matching left arm. Well, some patient eBay trolling resulted in finding a left Sugino 165mm arm. It’s not a Super Mighty or whatever the DS is, but it’s close enough.
