The URL of the UPS website on the side of a UPS truck was the first time I ever saw or heard anything about the internet.

Hey, I need to say I'm sorry for my outburst the other day. I overreacted and lashed out. Was a bad day for me, but really not an excuse to berate someone.

been super lazy on the bike this week. don't mind because I've ridden a lot the past two weeks and put in a monster weekend. Plus, my gf is back after a 2 week vacation in Europe w her sisters so I've enjoyed spending more time with her than usual and not getting up as early as I often do.

So far, it's been:

M - off
T - 1 hr ez
W - off... rain...

Tonight I'll hit the road at ~5 after work for a couple hours of mostly z1/2 randomness. I'll throw in 2-3 laps at Fiesta Worlds and maybe hit Linda Vista road hard on the way home for good measure.

Starting tomorrow - San Dimas Stage Race!!!!

This is why I put 42/32/28 combo on my Surly. I used to ride trails a with a road triple and I would get exhausted with the 39t and the 52t was way too big to be useful. I recycled one of my old 110bcd cranks and with a set of Sugino rings.

Mountain triple is the best for any bike if you're not doing road racing imo.

If you're just retrofitting an existing 2x the sugino is a great option, but FDs suck the same whether there's 2 or 3 rings and the range is more than enough for most people in most situations

Thanks! No climbing at all, I'm in AZ. I've got a nice little circuit setup that I ride with very low traffic and smooth roads.

No climbing sounds about right for that kind of gearing. I'm more curious about where you got a 60t ring.

I think it would too low for my sport road bike, but for my Surly ,that doubles as a commute bike, the 42 is all I need. It bottoms out downhill, but I aint racing.

I just had a molar pulled and some bony growths removed from my jaw. I expected to be completely asleep for the procedure and was a little nervous about that. Turns out, the doc just wanted me partially sedated, because he was working under my tongue and didn't want to worry about my airway closing. I was semi-conscious for about an hour and a half but it seemed like ten minutes. Was only vaguely aware of what he was doing to me, and that's a good thing because it involved a little hammer and chisel as well as the usual dental power tools.

So far, the recovery has not been as difficult as when I had a root canal treatment a few years ago (my first and only one of those), or my wisdom teeth removal in 1989--they were not impacted, but also had not erupted (doc had to cut into the gums to get 'em).

Good luck to you, and hope you're eating solid foods soon!

Overhauled my Hatta bottom bracket to deal with some light pinging that I suspected to be coming from there. Replaced the old caged balls with some fresh loose ones, and now everything seems to be smooth and quiet.

BUT, my god, that Hatta lockring. It's so soft that the slightest amount of pressure causes the notch walls to melt away. Not sure I'll be able to make it through another cycle of removal and installation without shelling out for the Hozan pliers.

Today a guy called the shop saying that he was planning on being in town for a few days next week and is wondering if he could buy a bike, ride it during his stay and return for a full refund it when he was done because he'd been looking into local bike rental rates and found them to be higher than he was willing to pay.

What the **** is wrong with people?

Some people are just plain ignorant, oblivious, and so involved with themselves they are unconscious.

Years ago cameras were used to take photos of your friends or family.

Now there are tools and special apparatus designed specifically to aid photographing one's self.

I find it strange that the whole selfie thing is so accepted.
