Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, the pigs can get you. Was driving on the Pickle Parkway in Austin a couple years ago, doing about 130 (speed limit 85) on my way to the race track. After a few miles of that, I recalled the prior articles about pigs running out on that road with frequency. Slowed me down to the state accepted speed limit of 10 - 15 over the posted limit.

I read somewhere that they were going to allow pig hunting or encourage it somehow to reduce the numbers.

There is no limit or season for pigs. There is a group not far from me that offers helicopter pig hunting trips using automatic shotguns. The pigs multiply quickly and severely damage crops. From what I understand, they don't really do anything good.

Friends have told me that they get really mean. If you shoot one you better kill it or it will charge you and try to gore you. I don't hunt, so no personal experience, but a lot of people we know do. All of my shooting is aimed at paper targets and sporting clays.

There's a reason it was a pig that killed Robert Baratheon. Pig hunting was incredibly dangerous prior to firearms, and probably still isn't safe.

Oh. Well, uh, yeah, I wouldn't put any money in to upgrading that. Some Intel processors from 5-6 years ago might still be capable enough to warrant just a new GPU and SSD, but it'd be very easy to outperform your Phenom II. If you're going to use it for productivity (in addition to any gaming), and have applications that would take advantage of multiple CPU cores/threads, I'd stick with AMD and look at some of the recently replaced 3000-series Zen processors, like the 3600, which is a good sweet spot for value/performance.

In addition to competitive pricing, Microcenter usually has an additional discount if you buy a CPU and compatible motherboard at the same time. They often have open box stuff, too, and I think that the CPU/mobo discount still applies.

You might be able to get away with just replacing the core of the computer at first (CPU, motherboard and RAM), though it would probably be advisable to replace the power supply too, while you're at it (good ones aren't as expensive as they were 10-12 years ago). Replace the GPU when you feel like it, though I'm pretty sure that I've got something in a pile of spare parts that I could donate that would be a couple steps up.

We're focused here at Velo Vol Industries--only one monitor needed.

California used to practically give away wild pig tags. Something like $7 for a book of 5 tags. Then ranchers with wild pig populations realized that hunters would pay to hunt pigs and started charging hundreds of dollars per pig for the privilege, and the state realized they could get in on the action. Pig tags are now about $25 each, which is still pretty cheap. But it's a lot more than $7 bucks for 5 tickets.

The meat is denser and more strongly flavored than domestic pork, and boars acquire a decidedly off-putting taste, but younger pigs and sows can be pretty tasty, especially braised or stewed.

Christmas lights for the bike path, not roads. Lousy quality I know, but I thought it was pretty cool just for the bike path. Just woods behind the bike path no roads.

Of course, that's the Dura Ace model. I figure handling of the 105 level with nitrile gloves would work. Or wait a year for the year end clearance on the trickle down Ultegra mostly self destructing one.
