DIY Teflon Insert for Dia Compe AGC Levers
gonna try something different, AGC levers are known for sawing thru the ferules,
you can help this by drilling bars and routing a straighter housing path which we did,
on top of that we are going to try teflon instead of Al,
scored some round stock off evilbay, probably about 0.391" dia.
spool it up in the transformer coil winding machine and have at it with primitive tools,

we used a smaller dia hole for the housing , we will strip off the housing covering a bit so just the steel part goes into the teflon,
this provides a thicker wall thickness for added strength, ready to bolt up lever,
will road test this for a while and shake it on down for any problems,

here are the dims for any brave souls out there who like experimenting with brake parts.
the action is pretty slick, and the teflon should resist cable saw thru due to the low coef. of resistance.
you can play around with making the part longer as to provide a longer tunnel for the cable which will mean less wear.

yes i drilled those brand spanking new Nitto rando bars, had to be careful, you only get once chance, and both sides have to be equal,
why, do you think i am gonna break those bars with my 15 watts of max power?
only person i ever saw break a set of bars was Dmitri Konyshev , aka the silver Hammer.
he did it at the criterium race on cobbles in Old Sacramento during the 1986 Coors Classic.
but he was probably juiced up on russian cocktails, so at 6'1" and 170, of course he will break those bars, especially when your trying to catch Alan McCormick.
I think he is working for the KGB national team now.
