Thru-axle for multiple trailer types.

The only company I've found offering thru-axles for those interested in towing trailers is called "The Robert Axle Project". These axles are more expensive than I would've thought - $62 if I recall correctly. They apparently offer different ones for different types of trailers. Are there any companies offering thru-axles which accommodate multiple types of trailer? So that I would only have to pay the exorbitant price once and then be good to go with any trailer.

My bicycle has a thru-axle of 142 x 12mm, which I believe is fairly common.
