Cutting the stem?

Cutting the stem?
There is a guy on youtube that upgraded his folding bike but the interesting parts is when he cut the handlebar's stem and insert a normal stem so he can fit a new handlebar. Since i have the feeling that on ny bike the handlebar is too high would be interesting if anyone has done that modify before.
Yea the best option is to change completely the stem and buying one more lower but to be honest if this is the cut can be a reliable option can be a lot more cheap.

Looks doable. I would only suggest that you try the new stem at different heights to find what is most comfortable for you before cutting the riser.

The trick I guess is to find the handle stem section long enough to match the 31.8 threadless stem requirements.

I guess he did exactly what you asked for: Cut part of the stem, and stick a new stem to get a touring handlebar.
