Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Fiddling. And different saddles have different sweet spots.

It's more developing a "weathered" look than outright fading. Because of the texture of the fabric and the way it's bonded to the rubber, the high part of the texture tends to lighten with wear and sun exposure while the low part retains the original darker color. The overall effect is a lightening/fading of the color, but in a way that accentuates the fabric texture and takes on different colors in different lighting. I don't know if this is by design, but I love the look and I think the Cambiums look better weathered/broken-in than they do new.

However if you want a black saddle, the Cambium will probably disappoint. Assume the black will weather to a dark gray/brown. And if you want to match bar tape for any of the Cambium colors (without using the expensive and reportedly awful Brooks Cambium tape), good luck.

So it fades, but that's a good thing.

I guess it all depends on your perspective. Certainly I've read plenty of reviews from people who were unhappy that it faded.

For me, I'm not a big saddle guy, I've been happily riding a $17 saddle on my one bike, and the saddle on the bike I posted above cost me $11 and the only thing I'm not happy about it is that it has blue on it that doesn't really go with the bike. Not sure I'm about to splash out $130 on a saddle, the bike was supposed to be a low cost parts bin build after all.

Agreed.

The easiest saddle for me to ride is the Regal. It just works.

For anything over 40 miles, I prefer a Swift. Takes more set up, but the comfort is hard to beat.

Btw Nice bike Aaron!

I had the Rivet on there...which felt great on a different bike with similar position. It wasn't working well on the Diverge. I spoke with a friend who suggested that the suspension in the bike and post was countering against that in the saddle and I might be better off with a plastic saddle. It's a lot more comfy.

Here's my drop-bar Pugsley.

Before the Almanzo 100:

After the Almanzo 100 (unofficial finish time around 7 hours 30 minutes):

VERY unofficially, I was told by volunteers and other riders that I was the fastest fatbike for 2016. I'm not sure I believe it, but lacking any fatbike category, I guess I'll claim it. LOLz!

Cannondale CAADX

Psimet alloy tubulars with challenger Baby Limus

It's pretty light, relatively cheap and really strong. Perfect for CX season.

Here's my Crockett I built from the frame up. 105 11s, handbuilt wheels. Use it as a gravel bike (as seen here with 40mm Schwalbe G-Ones set up tubeless and 11-32 cass) during the CX off season, and then swap back to mud tires and smaller cassette for CX. It's been fantastic for the time I've had it, but thinking about selling it and trying to build up a new SuperX.

I just like building bikes
