"single speed" chainring work with 6-spd freewheel?

hi

Can a generic 3/32 "singlespeed" chainring work with a 6-speed Shimano mf-tz20 freewheel?

Seller says this chainring will only works on a single speed bike.

A 3/32 chainring should work. Might be that on that particular one you‘ll get some chain rub on the chainguard when on the smalest cog an the rear.
