Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Too much Orange Seal in tyre? Any concerns?

I'm fairly certain I put too much Orange Seal in the front tyre of my road bike. I'm basing this on the fact that

a) when I was done adding the Orange Seal the sealant kept bubbling up and out of my coreless presta valve; and
b) the Orange Seal dip stick was showing sealant above the line.

Any side effect of having too much sealant in the tyre? Or just the extra weight?

Shouldn’t be a problem as long as the tire is still mostly filled with air.

How much is too much? I put 90ml in my 35s. Been known to put 50ml in a 25. As said, as long as it's mostly air in there, it's fine.

Great. Thanks everyone. DrIsotope I'd estimate I put in 50ml in my 25s. The tyre is holding air, so all is good. Cheers.

I don't have very good luck checking the sealant level in the tire after adding sealant. The stem gets coated on the inside and it sometimes gives a false reading on the dipstick. Just check once, add selant as necessary and move on with life.

Bubbling out the stem is pretty common for me if I don't add sealant with the stem at the 3:00 or 9:00 position.

Maybe that's a tiny bit much, but you'll be fine.
