Looks like a ton of my SDBC teammates registered for the 40k ITT tomorrow, and I'm stuck in the 35+ 20k, dang. I've never actually raced a full 40k ITT... sounds miserable. But, I think it would be fun to see how I stacked up against all the other guys! Maybe next time.

Also, my ~6 month old daughter waved goodbye to me for the first time today before I left for work! Man what a nice send off.
Every weekday morning, when I'm done working out and cleaned up, I wake baby, take her to the front door to show her outside, change her diaper and then drop her back off with mommy. Then Liz will wave goodbye and grab Lilly's arm to mimic her movement. Today Lilly didn't need any help waving goodbye! Awesome!

Last night's ride was a lot of fun. It was warm, not TOO windy, sunny. A couple places I gave it the beans, and while it wasn't Cycling God level, I still had lots of power when needed. That's when it's fun. Oh, and I absolutely LOVE the Litespeed. Have I mentioned that before?
Anyhow - one time there was this guy I caught up with. From a distance I'd have sworn he was out of the saddle, and really working it, too! Whole body moving side to side, up and down with each pedal stroke. But as I got up close, I could see is ass was ON THE SADDLE! Which must have been INCHES too high for him, because he was doing all that just to reach the pedal at the bottom of each stroke. It was so bizarre, over time I began to doubt I'd actually seen what I thought I saw.
Last night, I was about to pull out to drive home, and I see a cyclist in the side mirror, so I wait for him to pass. It was That Guy. Oh. My. God. It was even worse than I remembered! He was pedaling like somebody out of the saddle trying to climb a sudden 10% pitch, but he was IN THE SADDLE the whole time! I cannot imagine how much chafing he must get!

You need to rig up a Murphy bed in there. And maybe a Murphy dining table too. If you could manage to sleep in a Yucatán type hammock, you could hang it on the wall everyday. And it is much cooler than a bed in the hot months. And much more comfortable!

I think I'd be very tentative with the pacing and aim for a solid negative split. With a 20k, you can almost go out to hard and screw it up and still hold on to a decent time. Not happenin' in a 40k, if you find yourself hurting after 10k and needing to back off, you're screwed

Absolutely. There is no reason to go out too hard. You've been doing enough intervals to know what you should be doing, and where you should be at in relation. Very few coaches will have you do a true one hour FTP test, but even if they do, a 40K TT is a whole different animal. Staying aero for almost an hour is a feat in itself.

Addiction Pills and Ills: My metastatic prostate cancer in my lymph nodes has shown growth over the last year especially since Christmas. Starting Xtandi soon but I have to go to class and get eddicated first. I’ve never heard of anyone having to go to class before starting a pill.

Since I had to get a new grill, it made sense that I had to get some new BBQ knives. Got this set off Amazon for not a whole lot of money, and quite frankly am impressed by their sharpness, finish, zebra wood handles, and feel in the hand. My main desire was to have a decent brisket slicer and boning knife.
Even comes with a nice little roll so i can pretend to be one of the cool kids.
These are likely not WhyFi level, but they will be working outdoors over fire a lot so if they get dropped and banged up they can be easily replaced.
