Clicking on the link I wondered if this would be an e-bike thread, maybe getting in trouble for charging at work.
My employer has a charging station for electric cars but there are currently 2x more cars than jacks. The owners keep in touch daily and take turns charging.

Heh. Going over the bicycling USB stuff I've accumulated over the past year, it's surprising how some manufacturers overlook placing the port where it's easy to reach without detaching the device. Or the devices can only charge but can't be run from external USB batteries. Or use mini rather than micro USB ports.
Let's see:
Vivo Bike Illuminati (helmet mounted front light)
Access USB port without detaching: Yes
Run from external USB battery or charge only: Run and charge
Micro or mini USB: Micro
Blackburn 2'Fer (rear helmet light)
Access USB port without detaching: No
Run from external USB battery: Yes, run and charge.
USB port: Micro
Cygolite Hotshot 50
Access USB port without detaching: Yes, located on bottom, easy from most positions.
Run from external USB battery: Yes, run and charge
USB port size: Mini, dadgummit, the one significant flaw to this light.
Light & Motion Urban 500
Access USB port without detaching: Yes, but not easily. The USB port is located under the front of the barrel where interference from the handlebar, head tube, etc., make it hard to reach. The port would be easier to reach if located on the lower rear of the barrel.
Run from external USB battery or charge only: Charge only, the single most significant drawback to this otherwise excellent light.
USB port: Micro
Ion Speed Pro video camera
Access USB port without detaching: Yes, but must remove weathertight rear cap.
Run from external USB battery or charge only: Run and charge
Micro or mini USB: Micro
iPhone 4s
Access port without detaching: Generally yes. Depends on mount. It's usually in my handlebar bag, not mounted on the bike.
Run from external USB battery or charge only: Run and charge. Recharges quickly, more quickly than any other device I have.
Micro or mini USB: Neither, proprietary Apple Lightning connector

Now charging my blinky and my phone. I just replaced my Hotshot 2 with a Hotshot 50. The only difference I can see is that the latter is here on my desk and not lost on the roadside

I charge my cheap Chinese-made CREE light twice a day--once at work and once at home. The battery life seems to last shorter and shorter. You get what you pay for.
Charge my Cygolight Metro once every three or four days. My rear blinkies, and I have a few, run on AA. That's about it.

Bicycle Lamp Bike Torch 6400mAH 8.4V DC Rechargeable 4 X 18650 Battery Pack | eBay
It used to hold a charge better when I first got it. I must be a glutton for punishment or just stupid because I ordered a second battery pack just to see if it's any better. Didn't cost much, so we'll see how it goes.

I charge my bluetooth headphones every week or two. I charge my tail light every month. Unfortunately, I have to charge my phone twice a day. I have a spoke light that uses watch cells, and I change them once or twice a year. Needing to charge a headlight makes me nervous, so I normally use a dynamo powered headlight and tail light (plus the battery powered spoke light and blinky tail light).

I sometimes charge my ebike at work. A full charge costs 7 cents. I've never done more than a half charge... so less than 4 cents.
I also charge my phone and one headlight (the other runs on a dynamo hub.)

That sounds cheaper than a pedal bicycle. Seriously, the fuel cost (food) is higher than that.

I'm a big fan of simple so we have dynamo lites on all of our city bikes. No computer or anything else to charge unless I take a go pro (or now a Nikon Key Mission that records about 16 hrs per charge).
A café I go to put an outlet outside for people to charge their e-bikes. Thought that was very cool of them.
