Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sounds like my 40 ct. pack of stroopwafels from Costco. Just got done with one 40 ct. box and my wife brings home another box last night.

Is this a statement about priorities or a recounting of events? Either way, I'm on board.

Lol. I was happy to make it through the bday key lime pie without gaining weight, but endless stroopwafels might be a bridge too far.

I bought two boxes of those from Costco and was eating one pack at a sitting until I noticed the calories in one pack.

Woof - I can only imagine. I try to limit myself to one with coffee/tea in the morning, but they're a tempting snack just about any time.

Both. I can give up the food part mostly, but it's Friday and I want some Monkey Shoulder.

My beverage craving of the season is this -

It's not the type of beer that I'd typically drink, but the flavor, tiny bubbles and price make it feel like a bit of a celebratory drink, which feels appropriate this time of year. Oh, and it's deceptively strong and will make you merry in short order.

All of that is pure awesome.

Basketball always coincided with wrestling, so I can barely even dribble a ball. Which brings me all the more appreciation of those that do what they do with a basketball.

Christmas Light installation week coming up, so not only am I in the middle of a block, I have that too. That will be my cheat week, because I will be burning the heck out of calories.

I should go home and ride my bike. Beautiful outside.

Instead I think I'll go home and make some chana masala.

It still never starts until Thanksgiving night. I think I picked a good week, as my normal week of Thanksgiving looks cold, and crappy.

I have a mini of that in my whiskey cabinet. No idea where it came from. I assumed it was Irish, because my daughter lives there and brings interesting things when she visits, but maybe my wife threw it in her bag on some flight.

I hate the holidays as much as the next guy, but I would be miserably sad if the people around my didn't love them.
