Can I use a 27 x 1-1/4 tube in a 700 x 32c tire ?

Ok my wifes hybrid has 700 x 38 tires and I use a 27" tube...my hybrid has 700 x 32c tires....can I still use the 27" tube ?

Yes. 1.25 inches is 31.75 mm. 700c and 27in are interchangeable. Life is good.

addendum : referring to tubes, not tires. My bad.

Ok the box didnt say it went up to 700 x 38....I tink it stopped at 35 ???

Also can I put 700 x 38 tires on my rims that came with 700 x 32's ?

yes the same tube will work
although might be slightly more stretched out
which could cause it to seep air slightly faster than a larger tube
but probably not noticable

700x38c tires will fit on the same rims as 700x32c

Just check that you have clearance for bigger tires, if they are bigger they may hit your brakes, frame, fork or front derailer

Sure you can. The two are practically identical in size. To get inches from centimeters, just multiply the 700c by .039 and you have 27.3 inches. For a tube that's 27" x 1 1/4", this isn't a problem. I've used the 27" x 1 1/4" tube in my 700 x 32c tires. More big box stores are now carrying the 700c tubes than used to.
