Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There was a guy at the bike shop last week who put on his mask to enter the shop then immediately pulled it off, once inside.

Also, old guys are more likely to pull down their masks when they speak. We regularly point out to these gentlemen that we can hear them just fine through their mask.

Funny, about 10 years ago the cut-off was 50. And I am guessing that in 10 years the cut-off will be 70.

I watched a lady at the grocery store this week pull down her mask to cough.

This morning a guy on the bus had his down. I was well away from him.

The city's numbers are climbing noticeably thanks to more indoor gatherings and "precaution fatigue." Last weekend I was sitting outside at my local. A lot of young people are sick of precautions. One 20-something poobah went inside for a few minutes to use the bathroom or ATM or something. When she came out she yanked off her mask and complained to her friend that it makes her feel like she's suffocating. I said aloud "Imagine what a ventilator is like," though she didn't hear me.

We will continue getting new waves for a while. Every time the new case rate falls significantly, people relax and more things open. Then cases rise again, and people start getting careful and some things shut down again.

Imagine what it would be like if we just 'opened everything up'.

This. It's human nature to relax a little over time.

A friend of mine is throwing a halloween party, and although I loved his last one I will not be attending this one. I hope he cancels, for everyone's sake.

In fact if I can't find a smaller and quieter physical therapy office than the one I'm using now I'm going to cut back my PT visits drastically, just do my best from home.

I comfort myself with the notion that there's less aerosol in nose breath. I'm probably wrong.

I just made a post and got a message that it contained characters not allowed or something. It did not have any bad words as far as I know and I can't find it. ??

You on the phone? Might have held a letter a bit and gotten a special character?

Yesterday I got a notice of a post quote. When I went to the page to view it, it said "post deleted". It gave me FOMO.
