Street sweeper did a pass on most of the bike lanes! My favorite nail that I roll around was (a) gone(r) lol.

what you're saying is that the street sweeper truck "nailed" it?

So far, enjoying the last warm day we're going to have for a while. Did my usual 10 mile workout this morning, will go on a group ride tonight of about 15 miles. So tonight will be fun to have one last social bike ride before colder weather hits.

Or the machine may have just kicked it to some other spot further down the road, awaiting some unsuspecting cyclist....

My favorite little thing while riding this morning was having the sun come up, seeing the whispers of fog over fields full of pumpkins with trees full of orange, yellow, and red leaves all around.

It was warm, breezy and sunny. About 30 degrees warmer than yesterday. Lots of happy people out enjoying one last warm day!

Dry pavement and no acorns.

Hitting then on a turn is like riding on marbles.

The crabapples & pears are soooo exciting & fun to passover when its a frosty 37F morning with impairment of light glare from vehicles while taking a groovy turn over a synthetic material made mup trail.
glad the glass shards were dodged!

Wife and I headed out on one of my favorite roads through a Natl forest. The views of the jagged mountain peaks with just a dusting of snow were gorgeous.

I was riding my unicycle on the MUP, approaching a busy street crossing. I planned to dismount and hit the crosswalk button, but at just the right time a pedestrian hit the button allowing me to glide right across. Sweetness.

When my rear tire sidewall failed after only a couple of miles, I was abler to insert a new tube, pump it up just hard enough to avoid pinch-flats while not bulging too much out of the home, and limp home instead of walking.

Most of my rides nowadays are taking my 6-year-old daughter to and from school by bike. She likes to sing songs during the rides, and tell me about her day in school. These things make me happy.

Beautiful sunsets on our 5:30 groups rides that start out in sunlight and end in darkness. Also being happy with the newest old bike purchase that turned out to be as good as I hoped it would be. Fall is such a great time to ride.

When I pulled up to a stoplight a guy from Spain complimented me on my 30 year old Banesto jersey (Banesto = a defunct Spainish bank).

I haven't done PCH in a while. Actually since they put the new path to Carpenteria . I used to see Whales and dolphin quite often. Last year at Eroica California we saw Whale spouts in the distance while riding to the Piedras Blancas light house . I live in Santa Paula so most of my riding now is through the citrus orchards and the smell is amazing , and the occasional crossing of a coyote in front of me. Ventura County is an awesome place to ride! Joe joesvintageroadbikes.wordpress

The fall colors.

Shifting my gears after tweaking them and realizing I did a great job and they work perfectly now.

Not to get too corny, but while I've cycled in Europe, India, Africa, and New Zealand, local rides on the tandem with my middle school aged daughter, who would sing while we rode, are my favorite cycling memories. Hands down.

Enjoyed a warm nighttime ride on a familiar route, less windy than usual.

Managed to avoid a buck with a handsome rack that darted across my path, along with two little 'uns following close by.

Set my fastest time on that route in a year, by a large margin. Probably motivated by a rapidly approaching t-storm. My legs are dead today but it was worth it.

Pretty good ride.
