Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good ride. Only downside to a hard ride is that I am mostly useless the rest of the day.

Because it's giving different mileages when I ride the exact same route and doing weird stuff like this: [note: I am not doing any off-road riding]

It looks like it lost signal and interpolated, hence the straight line across two blocks.

I use my 945 and back it up with my 520. The 520 was wrong this morning - it started dropping satellites at the beginning for some reason.

Phones are just crazy inaccurate.

Not saying your wrong, I just havnt had any issues with mine. Only issue I have had is when strava just stops recording. But that has only happened once or twice.

Is it going into battery saving mode? If so disable it.

Also adaptive battery might be cutting juice to Strava, so you could try disabling that while riding also.

Strava seems to overestimate elevation gain quite a bit. A few years ago I rode with someone and compared elevation gain to what my Garmin watch recorded and it was drastically off. I trust Garmin GPS more than the strava algorithim/guesstimate.
Your elevation may vary.

According to the Googles, MTSU is just 25 miles closer than KSU. Why not cheer for the Mighty Owls instead?

I don't know what this means but two problem areas I've noticed lately are when I'm just starting the ride, and when I resume after I stopped it (using the stop button) for a while. That's what happened on the map above. I'm leaving the office and I went north on the smaller road and then east on the bigger one.

Or, I could walk less than a mile to the nearby high school and see much the same thing, probably.
